PASC Member Obligations & Conduct Policy
Last updated on 11 December 2025
Tēnā koutou katoa, and welcome to the Pan-Asian Screen Collective (PASC) whānau!
Our collective is built on a foundation of shared purpose: to uplift Pan-Asian voices, create opportunities, and champion authentic story sovereignty in Aotearoa's screen industry. To ensure PASC remains a vibrant, supportive, and psychologically safe space for all our members, we ask everyone to embrace the following principles.
Our Core Principles: Building a Safe & Respectful Community
At PASC, we are committed to fostering an environment where every member feels valued, heard, and safe to create and collaborate. This means upholding:
Respect & Inclusivity: We celebrate the rich diversity of our Pan-Asian community and beyond, encompassing all ethnicities, gender identities, experiences, and backgrounds. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or any form of disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated. We actively work to dismantle systemic barriers and promote equity for all.
Collaboration & Support: We believe in the power of collaboration and support among filmmakers, encourage constructive feedback, sharing of knowledge, and helping each other grow in our craft.
Professionalism: In all your interactions within PASC – whether at events, online, or in collaborations – we expect punctuality, reliability, and courtesy. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
Psychological Safety: This is paramount. We are dedicated to creating a space where you can express yourself, share ideas, and seek support without fear of judgment, intimidation, or harm. We encourage open dialogue and mutual respect.
Confidentiality: Respect sensitive information shared within PASC, including project details and personal matters. Always seek consent before sharing any confidential information outside the collective.
Online Conduct: Our online platforms are extensions of our community. Please maintain respectful and constructive communication. Avoid spreading misinformation or engaging in behaviour that could harm the reputation of PASC or its members.
Compliance with Laws & Regulations: All members are expected to comply with applicable New Zealand laws and industry regulations in their screen endeavours and their interactions within PASC. This includes adhering to health and safety guidelines (e.g., ScreenSafe) and ethical practices.
Addressing Concerns & Conflict Resolution
Even in the most supportive communities, disagreements can arise. PASC is committed to providing clear, fair, and timely processes for addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
Reporting Concerns: If you experience or witness any behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to report it promptly. Details on how to report a concern can be found on our or by emailing. All reports will be handled with discretion and respect for privacy.
Investigation & Resolution: PASC will undertake all reasonable steps to investigate concerns impartially and work towards a timely resolution, in accordance with principles of natural justice. This may involve facilitating discussions, providing guidance, or referring members to appropriate external support services or professional bodies for formal mediation or legal advice.
Accountability & Revocation of Membership: Members are expected to take responsibility for their actions. Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in consequences ranging from warnings to suspension or, in severe cases, expulsion from the collective, depending on the nature and severity of the offence. PASC reserves the right to revoke membership for serious or repeated breaches of this policy, or for actions that significantly undermine the safety, integrity, or kaupapa of the collective.
By being a member of PASC, you agree to uphold these principles and contribute to a thriving, respectful, and empowering environment for all Pan-Asian screen practitioners in Aotearoa. Together, we can make a difference.
Professional Conduct Statement: Our Commitment to You
As the Board and Team of the Pan-Asian Screen Collective, we are deeply committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and psychologically safe environment for all our members. Our kaupapa is built on mutual respect, collaboration, and the shared goal of empowering Pan-Asian screen practitioners across Aotearoa.
We understand that a thriving community requires clear expectations and a steadfast commitment from its leadership. Therefore, we, the PASC Board and Team Jam, pledge to uphold the principles outlined in our Member Obligations & Conduct Policy above in all our interactions, decisions, and operations.
This means we commit to:
Leading by Example: Adhering to the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and ethical conduct.
Ensuring Accountability: Implementing fair and transparent processes for addressing concerns and upholding the Code of Conduct for all members, including ourselves.
Fostering a Safe Space: Actively working to maintain an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying, where every voice feels heard and valued.
Providing Support: Continuing to develop and provide resources that empower our members to navigate industry challenges and advocate for themselves effectively.
Your trust is paramount to us. We are dedicated to ensuring PASC remains a supportive home and a powerful collective force for positive change in the New Zealand screen industry. We welcome your feedback as we continuously strive to meet these commitments.
Ngā mihi nui,
The PASC Board and Team Jam
